Jealous Eyes / Eternal Light

Utah Jazz have been a constant, if underated force for some time now,
an architect of of what many would regard as some of the finest liquid
funk known to humanity! Recall 'Back In Time' anyone? 'It's A Jazz
Thing' lp on V?

Now stepping in on this remix of Smooth's 'Jealous
Eyes' & you can imagine the basics elements thrown in the mixing pot:
bittersweet vocal sample of yore finssed and filtered, strung over the
type of crisp, breezy rolling break that Marky and Innerground would
itch to play out and also would drop like a bomb at the hands of
someone like Makoto (speaking of elements, the human kind that is). A
plaintive, naive piano underpins 'Jealous Eyes' deft vocal layering
propelling this along at a tidy, brisk momentum, a refreshing blast of
oxygen to enliven one of those late, late night sessions locked deep
inside.
